OL2002: A Contact Returns in the PT_UNICODE Format When You Use the 'ResolveName' Method in a PST File (314303)

This article was previously published under Q314303 SYMPTOMS If you use the MAPI ResolveName method to refer to a personal folders (.pst) file, a contact may
return in the PT_UNICODE format instead of the expected PT_STRING8 format. You
may notice this format problem in string properties (for example, in the PR_DISPLAY_NAME and the PR_EMAIL_ADDRESS string properties). CAUSE This problem occurs because Outlook 2002 returns this
information in a PR_UNICODE format although it was not requested to do so.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest
service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the
