Freeze and Unfreeze All Messages in a Queue
To control the transport of all of the messages that are in a queue, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
- Click Server, and then expand the server that you want to work with.
- Expand Protocols, and then expand the protocol that you want to work with.
- Click the virtual server that you want to work with, and then enumerate the queue so that you can see the messages that are in the queue.
- Right-click the queue, and then click Freeze All Messages.
- To restore operations, right-click the queue, and then click Unfreeze All Messages.

Freeze and Unfreeze Individual Messages in a Queue
To control the transport of an individual message in a queue by selectively freezing that message, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
- Click Server, and then expand the server that you want to work with.
- Expand Protocols, and then expand the protocol that you want to work with.
- Click the virtual server that you want to work with, and then enumerate the queue so that you can see the messages that are in the queue.
- Right-click the message that you want to freeze, and then click Freeze.
- To restore operations for the message, right-click the message, and then click Unfreeze.
