SYMPTOMS

When Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server receives streaming packets that are larger than 4 kilobytes (KB), ISA Server may drop them, and this may degrade performance.

CAUSE

This problem can occur because ISA Server can only process 4 KB or smaller streaming media packets.

RESOLUTION

After you apply ISA Server Service Pack 1 (SP1), ISA Server can process streaming media packets that have a size of up to 8 KB. Although it is rare for streaming media packets to exceed 8 KB, the streaming media protocols allow for much larger packet sizes.
