XCCC: You Receive a "No Contacts" Message When You Use Outlook Mobile Access 5.5 to Search for Contact Information (314030)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Outlook Mobile Access, you can use a search string with the Contacts search feature to quickly locate information for a contact in your Personal Contacts list. You can also search your organization's Global Address List.

If you are using Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 and Outlook Mobile Access 5.5, if you type the entire name or the complete e-mail alias of the contact you are looking for, you receive a "no contacts" message, even when the alias is listed as a valid contact in your Personal Contacts list.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue if you are using Exchange Server 5.5, use either of the following methods:
  • Type a partial name or a partial e-mail alias.

    -or-
  • Search for the contact's name in the Global Address List.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are using Microsoft Exchange 2000 and Outlook Mobile Access 5.5, you can type the contact's entire name or their complete e-mail alias to search for a contact.
