This article was previously published under Q313972 SYMPTOMS
When you use Microsoft Mobile Information Server 2002, an event ID message may be logged in the Application event log that is similar to the following:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Outlook Mobile Access
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1
Date: 11/16/2001
Time: 7:11:53 AM
User: N/A
Computer: MMIS01
Description:
Internal Error in Module: OMA Control Module
Error Code: 8ff10dbb
Description: Invalid URL: URL is not escaped properly.
User: user1
Host:
Path:
Query String:
The Query String value, which you typically use for troubleshooting, may appear blank.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because of the error that occurs in the Microsoft OMA Control Module before Microsoft Outlook Mobile Access parses the uniform resource locator (URL) for the Query String value. Therefore, there is no value to return in the event ID message.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, use the Internet Information Server (IIS) logs to match the time of the error with the appropriate request logged by IIS to determine the Query String value that coincides with this failed request. This request, located in the IIS logs, contains the complete request from the user, which includes the Query String value.
