Hotmail Option to Add to Messenger Buddies May Add the Buddies to More than One Messenger Account (313971)

When you add a contact to your Hotmail address book, by default the Add to My Messenger Buddies option is selected. If you have logged on to to two different computers by using two different accounts in Messenger, the Add dialog box appears when you sign in to a Hotmail account by using a different account and then add e-mail contacts to the Hotmail address book. These contacts are also added to the other current Messenger session, even if that Messenger account is not the account that you signed in to Hotmail with.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because Messenger does not support full passport login/logout features, leaving the accounts open for adding Messenger buddies.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
