Encarta 2001: Message "An Encarta Product(s) Is Running" When You Try to Run the Copy to Hard Disk Wizard (313949)

When you attempt to use the Copy to Hard Disk Wizard to copy the files from the Microsoft Encarta Reference Suite 2001 CD-ROM to your hard disk, you may receive the following message:
An Encarta product(s) is running
The Copy to Hard Disk Wizard has detected that one or more Encarta products is
running. Please close all Encarta products and then click Next to continue.
If you want to run the Copy to Hard Disk Wizard later, click Cancel.
Note: You cannot run this Encarta product while files are being copied.
NOTE: Do not close the message box when this issue occurs.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, follow these steps:
- Do not close the message box. Click the Close button in the upper-right corner of the Encarta window.
After a few seconds, the Next button in the message box becomes available.
- Click Next.
- When the Copy to Hard Disk Wizard starts, click Typical, and then click Next.
- Follow the onscreen instructions, and then insert the Encarta CD-ROM when you are prompted to do so. Wait for the CD-ROM drive activity light to turn itself off, and then click OK to continue the copying the files.
