Create a Custom Filter to Enumerate Messages

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Click Server, and then expand the server that you want to work with.
  3. Expand Protocols, and then expand the protocol that you want to work with.
  4. Expand the virtual server that you want to work with, and then right-click the queue.
  5. Click Custom Filter.
  6. In the Action list, click Enumerate.
  7. To select a specific number of messages, click Select Only The, and then specify a number under Number of Messages.
  8. To enumerate messages by criteria, click Select Messages That Are, and then set the enumeration criteria.
  9. To enumerate all available messages, click Select All Messages.
  10. If you want to save the new settings as the default filter, click Set As Default Filter.
  11. Click OK. The custom filter automatically runs.
