Money 2000: Lot Wizard Does Not Start When Expected (313416)

SYMPTOMS

When you sell investments in Microsoft Money, the Lot Wizard may not start as expected.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when one of the following conditions is true:
  • You have only one lot for a particular investment.

    -or-
  • The Track all investments as FIFO (first acquired) check box is selected.
If you have only one lot for a particular investment, the Lot Wizard does not need to start.

If you select the Track all investments as FIFO (first acquired) check box on the General tab of the Options dialog box, the decision about which lot to sell is made automatically the Lot Wizard does not need to start.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, make sure that you have more than one lot for the investment, and then click to clear the Track all investments as FIFO (first acquired) check box. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Money.
  2. Make sure that you have more than one lot purchased for your investment.
  3. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  4. In the Options dialog box, click the Investments tab.
  5. Click to clear the Track all investments as FIFO (first acquired) check box, and then click OK.
