Money: Error message when you try to turn off Passport (313366)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to turn off the use of your Passport Network account in Microsoft Money, you may receive the following error message:
Passport has experienced an error. Please try again in a few moments.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when one of the following conditions is true:
  • You initially choose to work offline when you start Money.
  • Your connection to the Internet is not functioning properly.
NOTE: You must be logged on to your Passport Network account to turn off your Passport Network account.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Quit Money.
  2. Connect to the Internet.
  3. Start Money, and then sign in to your Passport Network account.
  4. Turn off the use of your Passport Network account.
To Turn Off Passport Network in Money 2003:
  1. On the File menu, click Password Manager, and then click Change.
  2. Click Disable Money's Passport Network features, and then click Next.
  3. Select Disable this Passport Network account for use in Money, and then click Finish.
