PRB: "Failed to connect to MSCMS server..." Error Message in Site Stager Log (313241)

When a Content Management Server (CMS) 2001 staging profile is started, no staging is performed and the Site Stager log shows the following error message:
Failed to connect to MSCMS server probably due to user authentication error. Please check the stage as user name and password in the staging profile. Also check to make sure the MS CMS has this virtual path. http://programfiles/nr/system/marshalling-p:\nr\staging\ncompass\sitestager.cpp (1373)
CAUSE
The proper server name is not inserted during Site Stager installation.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, do either of the following:
- When you create a new staging profile, make sure to change the URL for the Sitemap.asp file to http://<machine_name>/nr/system/staging/sitemap.asp.
- Reinstall Site Stager and make sure that the server name is inserted properly during the installation procedure.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
