Temporary Table Is Not Used in Data Import (312979)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 SP2

This article was previously published under Q312979

SYMPTOMS

The Data Warehouse Catalog Import Data Transformation Services (DTS) task creates and then drops a table in the catalog database during execution. This process uses the connection string with which users on the Web site access the catalog. Because of this, the connection string must be able to drop and add tables on the production database, which poses a possible security risk.

CAUSE

The table is not created as a Microsoft SQL Server temporary table.
