Images with transparencies appear with a black background in Producer for PowerPoint 2002 (312917)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Producer for PowerPoint 2002
This article was previously published under Q312917 SYMPTOMS When you import an image that contains transparencies, the
transparent areas may appear in black.CAUSE Many metafile images (.emf, .wmf) are designed on a white
background. Frequently, the images have transparent edges or sections. When you
import these types of images into Microsoft Producer, the image displays the
transparent areas in black, instead of white. WORKAROUND To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Insert the image in Microsoft PowerPoint 2002.
- Draw an AutoShape that has an appropriate size and color on
which to display the image.
- Format the AutoShape, and change the line's Color setting to No Line.
- Place the image on top of the AutoShape, so that the image
lays perfectly on top.
- Select both the image and the AutoShape.
- Right-click the selected objects, and then click
Save as Picture.
- In Producer, use the new image that you created in
PowerPoint.
STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
