The dictionary that is supplied with Microsoft Encarta Reference Library 2002 does not contain links to the audible pronunciation of the words.
CAUSE
The dictionary available in Microsoft Encarta Reference Library 2002 is the concise version. It does not provide audible pronunciations. Audible pronunciation is a feature of Microsoft Encarta World English Dictionary, which is included in Microsoft Encarta Reference Suite 2001.
RESOLUTION
To hear the pronunciation of the words that you look up, use one of the following methods.
Install or Reinstall Microsoft Encarta World English Dictionary- Insert the Microsoft Encarta Reference Suite 2001 CD in the CD-ROM drive.
- If the installation program does not start automatically, explore the CD, and then double-click SETUP.EXE.
- On the first page of the Setup wizard, click Next.
- Click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.
- On the Setup Type page, click Custom, and then click Next.
- Select only the Encarta World English Dictionary to be installed on the local hard drive, and then click Next.
- Click Install to begin the installation.
