PRB: Default Permissions Are Not Set for OLAP or Analysis Services (312528)

SYMPTOMS

In certain scenarios, the default permissions are not applied to some objects.

RESOLUTION

To set the default permissions for online analytical process (OLAP) or Analysis Services, perform the following steps for the version of Microsoft SQL Server that you are using:

SQL Server 7.0

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, point to OLAP Services, and then click OLAP Manager.
  2. Click the plus sign (+) next to OLAP Servers, click the plus sign (+) next to the server on which your Data Warehouse OLAP database resides, and then click the plus sign (+) next to your Data Warehouse OLAP database.
  3. Click the plus sign (+) next to Virtual Cubes, right click mscsVisit, and then click Manage Roles...
  4. Click All users, click the greater than sign (>), and then click OK.
  5. Click the plus sign (+) next to Cubes, right click mscsDateIntersect, and then click Manage Roles...
  6. Click All users, click the greater than sign (>), and then click OK.

SQL Server 2000

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server, point to Analysis Services, and then click Analysis Manager.
  2. Click the plus sign (+) next to Analysis Servers, click the plus sign (+) next to the server on which your Data Warehouse Analysis database resides, and then click the plus sign (+) next to your Data Warehouse Analysis database.
  3. Click the plus sign (+) next to Virtual Cubes, right click mscsVisit, and then click Manage Roles...
  4. Click All users, click the greater than sign (>), and then click Ok.
  5. Click the plus sign (+) next to Cubes, right click on mscsDateIntersect, and THEN click Manage Roles...
  6. Click All users, click the greater than sign (>), and then click OK.
