SYMPTOMS

If the meeting originator makes one or more updates to a recurring appointment, adds a new recipient, and sends out these updates, the original meeting recipients may receive an out-of-date condition and when accepting the meeting the recipients may receive the following message:

You have received a more recent update to this meeting. Responding to this request will result in out-of-date information on your calendar. Are you sure you want to respond to this meeting?

CAUSE

This problem can occur because Outlook 2002 mishandles the Sequence Number Field (SNF) that is associated with the recurring appointment.
