An incorrect X.224 protocol error message is logged (312313)

SYMPTOMS

Terminal Services error code 50 may be logged in the event log, even if no client sessions have been disconnected. The following entry may be recorded:
Terminal server event ID 50
The RDP protocol component X.224 detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client.
The binary part of the message contains the number 0x00000009 at offset 0x28.

CAUSE

This error may be logged for clients that disconnected their session correctly. If this is the case, you can safely ignore this error message.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
