MacPPTX: Slide Show on Second Monitor Disappears When You Switch Focus (312257)

SYMPTOMS

When you view a Microsoft PowerPoint X for Mac slide show on a second monitor or projector, the slide show may disappear.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when all the following conditions occur in the following order:
  1. The slide show is running on a second monitor or projector.
  2. You change the focus to the Finder on the first monitor.
  3. On the first monitor, you click the PowerPoint window.
When the focus shifts to the Finder, the slide show is no longer displayed. When you change the focus back to PowerPoint, the window with the slide show is still not displayed.

WORKAROUND

To start the slide show again, close and reopen the file.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
