When you perform a mail merge in Microsoft Word for Mac, the data fields may not be matched correctly.
CAUSE
This issue occurs when you use a FileMaker Pro database as the data source. This issue can occur if the mail merge uses repeating fields. For example, the name field contains repeating fields such as title, first name, and last name.WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use the FileMaker Import Wizard to import data from FileMaker Pro into a Microsoft Excel X for Mac workbook, and then use the Excel X workbook for the mail merge. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Excel X, and then open a new, blank workbook.
- On the Data menu, point to Get External Data, and then click Import from FileMaker Pro.
- Locate the FileMaker database that you want to use, and then click Open.
- Click the Select Field button to move the fields that you want to use to the Fields to import list.
