FP2002: Shortcut Menu Does Not Appear When You Right-Click the Address Box (312153)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2002

This article was previously published under Q312153

SYMPTOMS

While you create or edit a hyperlink in Microsoft FrontPage 2002, a shortcut menu does not appear when you right-click the Address box in the Create Hyperlink or Edit Hyperlink dialog box.

As a result, you cannot use shortcut menu commands (for example, Paste) by which to edit the Web address in the Address box.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because of a change in functionality between FrontPage 2002 and earlier versions of FrontPage. In Microsoft FrontPage 2000 and earlier, you can right-click the URL box in the Create Hyperlink or Edit Hyperlink dialog box and then click a command on the shortcut menu that appears (for example, Paste, to paste a Web address into the URL box).

In FrontPage 2002, you do not have the option to right-click the Address box and then use a command from a shortcut menu.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use the CTRL+V keyboard shortcut combination to paste a Web address into the Address box in the Create Hyperlink or Edit Hyperlink dialog boxes in FrontPage 2002.
