The strPropertyToSortOn Parameter of the Categorty.Products Object Method May Not Sort Correctly (312087)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the strPropertyToSortOn parameter of the Categorty.Products object method the resulting list may not be sorted correctly.

CAUSE

The underlying stored procedure sp_GetProductsFor_CatalogName is not sorting correctly.

RESOLUTION

There is a hotfix available for this issue. If you are not severely impacted by this issue Microsoft recommends that you wait for Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 3 which will include this fix.

To apply the hotfix to existing Catalog databases please run the Catalogupgrade.sql script against these databases. Any new Catalogs that are created after the application of this fix will have the issue resolved automatically.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 2.
