The NUM LOCK Key on a USB Numeric Keypad May Work Incorrectly (312065)

The NUM LOCK key on a Universal Serial Bus (USB) numeric keypad may seem to work in the opposite manner than you expect for a program that is running on your computer if all of the following conditions exist:
- You are using the Japanese version of Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition.
- Input Method Editor (IME) is using Hiragana mode.
- You unplug and then reinsert the USB connector for the numeric keypad.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use either of the following methods:
- Switch to a window other than the window for the program that is experiencing the issue, and then switch back to the first window.
- Minimize the window, and then click the appropriate button on the taskbar to restore the window.
STATUSThis problem was corrected in Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition.
