PRJ2000: You Cannot Insert a Microsoft Project File from a Database That Has a Comma in File Name (311910)

SYMPTOMS

If you insert a Microsoft Project file in a Microsoft Consolidated Project plan file in Microsoft Project 2000 or Microsoft Project 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1), the Open dialog box reappears with the following error message in the Header
Cannot find inserted project <file name>.
and then you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Project cannot open the file

Check that the file name and path are correct.
Check that the file format is recognized by Microsoft Project.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when you save the Microsoft Consolidated Project plan file to a database with a comma (,) included in the Microsoft Project file name.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do not include a comma in the Microsoft Project file name.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
