The Time on the Computer May Decrease by One Hour (311884)

SYMPTOMS
If your computer is set to use the "(GMT-06:00)" time zone, the time on your computer may decrease by one hour when you start the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if your original time zone was set to "(GMT-06:00) Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey." When you start the Date and Time tool in Control Panel, the time zone is reset to the "(GMT-07:00) Chihuahua, La Paz, Mazatlan" time zone, which is an hour earlier. If you do not change the time zone back to the original setting, you can reset the clock after you click OK.
RESOLUTIONWARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
To resolve this problem:
- Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
- Locate and click the Dlt value under the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\TimeZones\Mexico Standard Time 2 - On the Edit menu, click Modify, type Mexico Daylight Time 2, and then click OK.
- Locate and click the Std value under the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\TimeZones\Mexico Standard Time 2 - On the Edit menu, click Modify, type Mexico Standard Time 2, and then click OK.
- Quit Registry Editor.
