FIX: Multiple processes cannot enlist to DTC when run under different user contexts (311377)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Message Queuing 2.0

This article was previously published under Q311377

SYMPTOMS

When you try to run two Microsoft Message Queuing applications, each one under a different user context, and both of the applications use DTC transactions, the application that created the mutex first can enlist to DTC. The other application fails and you receive an error message (0xc00e0058).

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the default security of mutexes does not allow a different user context to open the mutex.
