Spell Check, Recognize, and Alternates Commands Are Missing from the Pocket Word 3.0 Tools Menu (311349)

SYMPTOMS

When you view the Pocket Word Tools menu on a Pocket PC 2002-based device, the Spell Check, Recognize, and Alternates commands may be missing. This symptom may continue until you complete a warm reset of your Pocket PC 2002-based device.

CAUSE

This problem may occur after you select text, tap and hold on the selected text to view the context menu, and then tap away from the selected text to close the context menu.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:
  • Complete a warm reset of your Pocket PC 2002-based device. For information about how to do so, view the documentation that is included with your Pocket PC 2002-based device.
  • To spell check a document, tap Select All on the Edit menu, tap and hold somewhere on the document, and then tap Spell Check.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
