Open the Browscap.ini File in Notepad

  1. On the server, click Start, point to Programs, Accessories, and then click Notepad.
  2. In Notepad, click Open on the File menu.
  3. Open the Browscap.ini file that is located in the %systemroot%\WINNT\System32\Inetsrv folder.

Copy and Paste Text Into the Browscap.ini File

  1. Copy the text from the preceding "Text to Add to the Browscap.ini File" section of this article. To do so, select the text, and then press CTRL+C.
  2. In Microsoft Notepad, paste the text that you just copied immediately after the "Internet Explorer 5" section, approximately at the middle of the Browscap.ini file.
  3. On the File menu, click Save, and then click Exit on the File menu.
