Newly Created Properties Do Not Have Required Custom Attributes (310949)

SYMPTOMS

When you create a new property in the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) User Management module, the custom attributes that are required by the applications are not available, and they must be manually typed in for each property.

NOTE: This problem occurs only with Japanese edition.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the Custom Attributes XML file (Microsoft Commerce Server\Widgets\ProfilebldrHTC\CustomAttributes.xml) is empty or missing.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, copy RetailBizdesk\Profiles\CustomAttributes.xml to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Commerce Server\Widgets\ProfilebldrHTC\CustomAttributes.xml.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Commerce Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 2.
