Data Deletion Task Does Not Update SiteSummary Table (310944)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2000

This article was previously published under Q310944

SYMPTOMS

If you delete a Web log import by using the Data Deletion DTS task, and then attempt to re-import the logs by using the Web Log Import DTS task, when you click the View Log Files button to view the logs that will be imported, the log files that you just deleted do not appear.

CAUSE

The Data Deletion Task does not update the EndDate in the Site Summary table when Web log imports are deleted. This can cause a problem when you run the Web Log Import Task again. When the EndDate is "incorrectly" set, the Web Log Import Task assumes certain logs have already been imported and does not display the log files. Additionally, the incorrect EndDate may prevent the original logs from being imported again.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, select the Import Criteria option Import log files based on date/time range, and then set an appropriate date/time range so that your log files are viewable when you click the View Log Files button.
