Cannot Send Third-Party Mail by Using Earthlink Dial-up Networking and Outlook Express (310887)

When you use an Earthlink dial-up networking connection to send mail through another Internet service provider (ISP) or e-mail account, you may receive the following error message:
Error 0x800ccc0e. Cannot connect to Server.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, replace the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server for the other ISP or e-mail account with the Earthlink SMTP server (mail.earthlink.net). To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Outlook Express.
- On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
- Click the Mail tab.
- Select the other ISP or e-mail account.
- Click Properties.
- Click the Servers tab.
- Change the server information for Outgoing mail (SMTP) to mail.earthlink.net.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
- Click Close in the Internet Accounts dialog box.
