Removable Storage Manager Stops Responding After Reboot When You Use Drives with Changers (310745)

If you either restart your Windows 2000-based computer or stop the Removable Storage Manager (RSM) service during an inventory, the service may stop responding (hang) when you restart it. When you view the work queue, all requests are in the "wait" state.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you either stop the RSM service or if you restart your computer while the drive is unloading a tape to the tape magazine. When you restart RSM, the service uses the previous drive state and proceeds as if there was still a tape in the drive, even though you unloaded the drive.
