The MRU file list tracks files that you have opened recently. Sometimes this list contains information that is no longer useful. Microsoft has a utility available for download that removes the Registry entries that store this information. When this information is removed from the Registry, the items no longer appear on the MRU list. This utility does not remove files from your computer. To have an item reappear on the MRU list, reopen the file.
