PRJ2000: Help Dialog Box Is Displayed Each Time Microsoft Project Starts (310692)

SYMPTOMS

The Help dialog box may be displayed each time that you start Microsoft Project 2000.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the Display help from startup check box is selected.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods.

Method 1

  1. Start Microsoft Project 2000.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  3. Click the General tab, and then click to clear the Display help from startup check box.
  4. Click OK.

Method 2

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\MS Project\Options\General

  4. In the right pane, double-click Show Welcome, and then type 0 (zero) in the Value data box.
