SUMMARY

The Cabinet Software Development Kit (SDK) is now available from the Microsoft Download Center. If you use the File Compression Interface (FCI) and File Decompression Interface (FDI) to develop cabinet (.cab) files, you must use the Cabinet SDK. The Cabinet SDK includes documentation and samples for FCI and FDI, as well as the Makecab.exe and Cabarc.exe files.

The Cabsdk.exe file is the self-extracting, executable file that contains all the files of the Cabinet SDK. After you download the file, double-click the .exe file to extract the files.

NOTE: You can only use these files on Intel platforms.
