PRJ2000: Microsoft Project Quits Unexpectedly When You Run the Registration Wizard (310446)

When you attempt to register Microsoft Project 2000 by running the Registration Wizard, you may see the following symptoms:
CAUSE
This issue can occur when both of the following conditions are true:
- Microsoft Project is installed on a computer running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 or Microsoft Windows 2000.
-and- - You attempt to register Microsoft Project while you are logged on as a user without administrative permissions.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click Shut Down.
NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
- In the What do you want the computer to do box, click Log off user, and then click OK.
- Log on as a user with administrative permissions.
- Start Microsoft Project 2000. When you are prompted for registration, click Yes.
- Follow the steps onscreen to register Microsoft Project.
- Click Start, and then click Shut Down.
- In the What do you want the computer to do box, point to the arrow, click Log off user, and then click OK.
- Log on with your user account.
- Start Microsoft Project.
