BUG: Error When Resource Gallery Item Added as an Attachment in a Placeholder (310398)

SYMPTOMS

When you add an attachment to a placeholder by using the Web Browser Client (WBC) or the Web Author, if you set the cursor focus to the Display Text text box (to change the display text of the attachment) and press ENTER, you may receive the following error message:

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, click Insert, which was specifically designed for submitting the attachment in the placeholder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. In Edit mode in WBC, click the attachment toolbar button to add an attachment.
  2. Click Insert Shared Attachment from Resource Gallery.
  3. Select the resource that you want to add.
  4. Click inside the Display Text text box, as if to change the display text of the attachment.
  5. Press ENTER on the keyboard to submit the attachment (instead of clicking Insert).NOTE: You do not need to actually change the display text to receive the error.
