SYMPTOMS

The Windows Media Player embedded control does not fire click events on Windows XP.

CAUSE

Windows Media Player is not forwarding the WM_LBUTTONDOWN message to Microsoft Internet Explorer when it is running on Windows XP. This is because the video mixing renderer is not aware of any mouse activity and does not get involved with forwarding windows messages to Internet Explorer.

STATUS
