INFO: [SSAFE] - A Checkmark Glyph Appears on a FrontPage Web Project Not Under Source Control (309031)

SUMMARY

If you add a Microsoft FrontPage Web project to a solution that is under source control, this causes the Web project to appear with a red checkmark glyph in Solution Explorer. This icon appears even though the Web project is not under source control.

Clicking refresh in Solution Explorer on the project removes the glyph.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. From the Tools menu, click Options. Open the Projects Options and select Web settings. In the Web server connection dialogue box, choose the preferred access method option FrontPage Server Extensions.
  2. Create a blank solution.
  3. Add the solution to Visual SourceSafe and check it out.
  4. Add a blank Visual Basic Web project to the solution. Note that there is a checkout glyph in front of the project although no source control commands are available if you right-click the project.
