This article was previously published under Q308947 SYMPTOMS
When you insert an image into a Microsoft FrontPage Web, the image may not be visible. You are able to view the image in Preview mode, but when you attempt to view it in Normal mode or in your Web browser, only an outline of the image is displayed, with a red "X" in the upper-left corner.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if there is a number sign (#) in the image file name.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, rename the file by removing the number sign. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Search, and then click For Files or Folders.
- In the Named box, type the name of the image that you want to use, and then click OK.
- When the search process is complete, right-click the file, and then click Rename on the shortcut menu.
- In the box that appears, type the original name of the file, excluding the number sign, and then press ENTER.
- Insert the image into your Web.
