Remote Desktop Connection Does Not Stay Minimized (308653)

SYMPTOMS

When you minimize your full-screen Remote Desktop connection, it may immediately and automatically maximize back to a full screen.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:
  • Hover the pointer over the top of the Remote Desktop session to view the Connection bar. Click the Minimize button to minimize the session into a window.
  • When the Remote Desktop session is in full screen mode, press CTRL+ALT+BREAK to minimize the session into a window.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If you follow the steps to work around this problem, and then change the Remote Desktop connection back to maximized, you may be unable to reproduce the symptoms that are described in the "Symptoms" section of this article. Also, this behavior is independent of the Connection bar being pinned, so that it hides in the top of the screen.
