XCCC: A Conference Organizer Cannot Schedule a Conference and Receives an "Error #80040700" Error Message (308553)

SYMPTOMS

When a conference organizer schedules a conference, the organizer may receive the following error message:
The Exchange Conferencing Service encountered a server error.

Please try the following:
  • Contact your system administrator.
Sending the message Error #80040700: Unable to schedule the specified conference. Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the Exchange 2000 Conferencing Manager cannot resolve the organizer's alias even though the organizer has been authenticated and is logged on.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
