If you click Add in the Advanced File Properties dialog box for a file or folder, you may receive an access violation error message. An access violation may occur if you click on the Add button of the Advanced File Properties security dialog box of a folder or file.
For example, if you connect to a UNIX-based computer that has Samba installed, view the properties for a file or folder, click Advanced, and then click Add, you receive an access violation error message.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because Windows tries to query the server for domain information and invalid data is returned. You receive the access violation error message because Windows tries to use the data without first verifying that the data is valid.
