You May Need to Include a Colon Before the Category Name in an Advanced Search (308344)

When you perform an advanced search in the portal by using the following sample format no objects are returned by the search:
To create this type of search, under Search by properties, choose Categories and the equal (=) symbol, and then type a category name, such as Category 1.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because you did not include a colon in front of the category name. The colon (:) symbol is required in front of the category name to designate the root or the start of the category name.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, select Categories and equal (=) symbol, and then type the name of the category beginning with a colon (:). For example:
MORE INFORMATION
You do not have to use a colon at the beginning of the category name if you use the Contains parameter instead of the equal (=) parameter.
