If you turn on the German hyphenation tools in Microsoft Word 2001, and you are running the German version of Mac OS 9.1, you may receive the following error message:

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use any of the following methods:
- Turn off the German hyphenation functionality.
- Upgrade to Mac OS X and Microsoft Office v. X. The problem does not occur in Office v. X.
- Change your operating system to the German version of Mac OS 9.0.4 or earlier.

Mac OS X requires Mac OS 9.1 or a later operating system to run in Classic mode. Therefore, this problem may also occur in the Classic mode of Mac OS X.
