This article was previously published under Q308250 SYMPTOMS
When you are using ADOCE to manage a database, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE records may be lost. This symptom may occur if the Windows CE device is reset before the database connection object is closed.
CAUSE
ADOCE opens a database as a mounted object, and caches all writes to the database object until the object is closed. Resetting the device does not give the operating system the opportunity to write the cached data to real storage, so all of the changes to the database are lost.

WORKAROUND
Close the recordset and connection object after INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE operations have been performed. This forces a write of the cached database to real storage.
