This article was previously published under Q307669 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Windows Media Player, the Plus! Speaker Enhancement command is not displayed as expected on the Tools menu. As a result, you cannot start Plus! Speaker Enhancement, nor can you view or change your speaker profile in Windows Media Player.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the file that corresponds to the active speaker profile is missing or corrupted. Speaker profile files are stored in the following folder on your computer's hard disk:
Program Files\Microsoft Plus!\Speaker Enhancement\Profiles
For example, if your current speaker profile defines the manufacturer and model of your speakers as Boston Acoustics 7500, and the corresponding speaker profile file (Boston Acoustics BA7500.prm) is missing or corrupted,
you experience the behavior described in the "Symptoms" section of this article.
