Error Message: A Problem Occurred in This Installation of Plus! CD Label Maker (307667)

When you start Microsoft Plus! CD Label Maker, you may receive the following error message:
A problem occurred in this installation of Plus! CD Label Maker. Reinstall Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP.
When you reinstall Plus! for Windows XP, and then you attempt to start Plus! CD Label Maker again, you receive the same message. As a result, you are unable to start Plus! CD Label Maker.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:
- You downloaded and installed additional Plus! CD Label Maker templates from the Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP More Plus! Web site.
-and- - A Plus! CD Label Maker template file that you downloaded and installed became corrupted.
In this situation, you cannot simply reinstall Plus! for Windows XP to replace the corrupted template files.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, remove and reinstall Plus! CD Label Maker, and then reinstall the templates that you downloaded from the Plus! for Windows XP More Plus! Web site. To do this, follow these steps:
Remove Plus! CD Label Maker- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
- Click Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP, and then click Change.
- On the Welcome! page, click Next.
- Click Add/Remove Features, and then click Next.
- Expand Microsoft Plus! (if it is not already expanded), and then expand Digital Media.
- Click the down arrow next to Plus! CD Label Maker, click This feature will not be available, and then click Next.
- Click Install.
- When the removal is complete, click Finish.
Reinstall Plus! CD Label Maker- Insert your Plus! for Windows XP compact disc (CD) into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT key as you insert the CD-ROM to prevent the drive from starting automatically.
- In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, click Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP, and then click Change.
- On the Welcome! page, click Next.
- Click Add/Remove Features, and then click Next.
- Expand Microsoft Plus! (if it is not already expanded), and then expand Digital Media.
- Click the down arrow next to Plus! CD Label Maker, click This feature will be installed on local hard drive, and then click Next.
- Click Install.
- When the installation is complete, click Finish.
Download and Install Plus! CD Label Templates- Start Internet Explorer and connect to the following Microsoft Web site:
- Click Get More CD Label Templates.
- Click Update, and then on the next page, click I Accept.
- In the File Download dialog box that appears, click Save.
- In the Save As dialog box, specify the location where you want to save the PlusCDLabelUpdates.exe file (for example, Desktop), and then click Save.
- Browse to the PlusCDLabelUpdates.exe file that you saved in step 5, and then double-click the file.
- In the Welcome to the Patch for Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP page, click Update.
- When the installation is complete, click Finish.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
