Profile Service Spinlock Problem Causes 100% CPU Consumption (307409)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 SP1
This article was previously published under Q307409 SYMPTOMS Dllhost.exe or Inetinfo.exe may show 100% CPU consumption
either in Task Manager or Performance Monitor. Further investigation using
Autodump+ shows that MSCSUps is engaged in multiple spinlocks that are spread
across multiple threads. Performing an IISRESET temporarily remedies the
symptoms. CAUSE A spinlock resource is not released reliably, which results
in a deadlock condition. The 100% consumption state is caused by the MSCSUps
component continuously checking to see if a lock has been cleared.
