This article was previously published under Q307386 SYMPTOMS
In Outlook 2002, when you use extended Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) to create a message in a folder, and then you submit the message, if you are working offline and you synchronize the offline folders, the message may be moved to the Sent Items folder. In Microsoft Outlook 2000 or earlier, whether you are working online or offline, a copy of the sent message is saved in the same folder that you created the message in if PR_SENTMAIL_ENTRYID is not set and PR_DELETE_AFTER_SUBMIT is not set or is set to FALSE.
CAUSE
This problem can occur when you synchronize offline folders if PR_SENTMAIL_ENTRYID is not set; the message is moved to the default Sent Items folder.
