FP2000: Error Message: Content Folder Must Have Permissions That Allow Reading and Writing Files in the Folder (307241)

When you use the Check Server Extensions command on your Microsoft FrontPage extended Web or subweb, you may receive the following error message in the Check Log box of the Check Web dialog box:
PROBLEM: Content folder folder name must have permissions that allow reading and writing files in the folder.

CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the Web content folder in which you are checking server extensions is set with the Read-only attribute.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, remove the Read-only attribute from the content folder. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Windows Explorer.
- Locate the Web content folder that is referenced in the message you received, as described in the "Symptoms" section of this article.
- Right-click the folder, and then click Properties.
- In the General tab of the Folder Properties dialog box, click to clear the Read-only check box, and then click OK.
If you receive the following error message
You have chosen to make the following attribute change(s):
unset read-only
Do you want to apply this change to this folder only, or do you want to apply it to all subfolders and files as well?
click the option that you want, and then click OK.
